WFC – UK CHAMPIONSHIPS – K-1 KICKBOXING

post_1

Congratulations to Lucio Profeta on his kickboxing win at the WFC-UK Championship in Loughborough. It was Lucio’s second competition within 2 months. This competition was important to Lucio as he was competing against an experienced martial artist whom had been training since the age of 7, and had many years of competition experience.

Lucio performed as expected, stepping in, putting a lot of pressure on his opponent and breaking down his game with powerful low kicks and technical knees. He knocked his opponent down in the 2nd round and continued with the pressure on his front leg, followed by technical clinching and effective knee strikes, to set up very effective and powerful low kicks. As the fight continued, credit where credit is due to his opponent; after a few powerful shots and stoppages, he tried to answer with a few of his own shots which were not as damaging to Lucio. During the 3rd round, Lucio saw his opportunity to finish the fight and he pushed the extra mile to stop his opponent by TKO. This fight was one of the best K-1 kickboxing fights of the night. For his second fight, he showed determination, focus and the will to win.

Watch this space for many more fights from Lucio in the future!

      Hi Harry

Sorry for the late reply. You would need to choose a gym which does K1 or thai boxing in your area. You would also need to do some research to check whether they are a competitive gym and compete regularly in national and international competitions. You will need to join and learn the basics first if you don’t have previous experience, learn the techniques and take part in sparring. If you enjoy it and perform well, you can ask the coach to book you a fight. if you are local, you are more than welcome to come along to us. We will point you in the right direction. Regards Alex
